ARTIST STATEMENT
Since my earliest years, I've been compelled to pick up a crayon, pencil, or paintbrush to record and translate into imagery, any subject that grabs my eye and interest.
My inspiration varies: Horse, cow, and buffalo skulls were readily available when I lived on the prairies in Alberta. I found the contours, shadows, and marks made by weathering on each individual skull fascinating, and this led to an ongoing series.
For the past several years I've been working in miniature, and a love of animals and rock and roll music is my focus and inspiration for these intricate and detailed 3 x 3" oil paintings.
I am intrigued and inspired by the journey of other artists and look forward to my own continuing path of evolving, exploring, and growing as a painter.
